"For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth." (Isaiah 62:1)

Spiritual esteem

"It is self-evident that if a person is fixated at the animalistic pleas pleasure-seeking level and does not advance himself to spirituality, he can hardly have much self-esteem.

There is little dignity in being nothing more than an intellectual beast, restrained only by the laws of a civilized jungle. Man's dignity and self-esteem are contingent on an awareness of his duty to fulfill the mission for which he was created.

Our only recourse is to revelation, wherein G-d revealed that He created the universe for reasons knowable only to Him. Certain axioms were posited by G-d in revelation, and we can elaborate on these axioms.

Man's goal in the world is described by Torah (Bible) ethicists, and although there are minor variations, there is general agreement based on revelation that man's goal is to seek his perfection by fulfillment of G-d's commandments."
