"For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth." (Isaiah 62:1)

A Pact With The Devil

Make a pact with the devil - 1,000,000 tons of gold in exchange for you soul. Good deal? On the face of it, it does seem that way. But suppose he only delivered 10 years later, when 1000 tons of gold could only buy you 100 grams of food? I'm sure you wouldn't think it's a good deal anymore.

Whenever you make a pact with the devil, there's a good chance that he will deliver, but there is always a catch. :-)

Something of this sort happened in my family. What makes the whole thing so ridiculous is that it started out with a remark made by someone's mother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Pride - One of the seven cardinal sins.

It's just money...

I'd like to think that the catch is your eternal life...without God...imagine that... ;)

Well, eternal damnation in hell with their great buddy (Satan) is certainly known as part of the deal. What the devil won't reveal is that he'll deliver something that's close to worthless.

My point really is, they gave up their souls in exchange for something that is worthless, and a whole lot of trouble.
